Visit by Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Trade Development, Linda Mysliwy Conlin

Linda Mysliwy Conlin, Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Trade Development, visited Krakow and the Malopolska region on December 5-7. Conlin met with the regional and municipal authorities: Krakow's Vice Mayor Zbigniew Zuziak, Malopolska Deputy Governor Ryszard Poltorak and Malopolska Marshal Janusz Sepiol.

Conlin met with faculty and students of Krakow's Academy of Economics as well as representatives of American business in Krakow. The American official spoke to Krakow students about trade relations between Poland and the USA, the significance of small business for a country's economic condition and American investors' view of local investment conditions.

Conlin's visit to Poland was partly in preparation for a visit by the U.S. Secretary of Commerce, Donald Evans to Poland, planned for spring 2003.
